  • Social 科学s – Three years
  • 数学 – Three years, students are encouraged to take four years of 数学
  • 科学 – Three years
  • Judaic Studies – Four years
  • World Language – Two years (three years are strongly recommended) of consecutive World language classes (i.e. Spanish I and II, or Spanish II and III) in the Upper School
    Hebrew Requirement: One year of Hebrew language is required during the student’s time in the Upper School. Students are encouraged to fulfill their one year of Hebrew language during the first year they are enrolled in the Upper School. Students who have successfully completed at least two years of Hebrew at Emery/Weiner’s Middle School are exempt from this requirement
  • 美术 – Two semesters (over the 4 years). Activities such as participation in the school theatre program may be counted as credit, as annually approved by the 美术 Department. Students participating in a Theatre Production can receive up to 0.5信用
  • Physical Education/体育运动 – Two semesters (over the 4 years). Each sports season receives 0.5信用. Off-campus physical education activities must get prior approval by the Upper School Registrar
  • 技术 – Two semesters (over the 4 years)
  • 选修课 – Eight semesters (over the 4 years), these electives can be from 美术, Physical Education, 技术 or other core academic departments
  • 社区 Service – 30 minimum of hours of community service is required each year for graduation. Students may receive credit for community service projects performed outside of the school as long as the Upper School Dean receives proper documentation
  • Experiential Education: 
  • Shabbaton – Students are required to attend the weekend retreat in the early fall semester
  • Winter Outdoor Trip – Students are required to attend the week-long Outdoor Trip in the early spring semester
  • Spring Culture Trip – Students are required to attend the week-long Culture Trip each spring
  • Comparative Religions Program – Seniors are required to attend the week-long Comparative Religions Program in the early spring semester
  • 实习 – Students are required to participate in a week-long 实习 each spring
  • Poland/Israel Trip – Students are required to participate in the Emery/Weiner senior trip to Poland and Israel
